Stories from Our Biosphere

Boomerang Bags – The Plastic Free Movement

Boomerang Bags Noosa is up and running with the support of Noosa Biosphere Association and Noosa Shire Council, with the aim of making 2500 bags for the Noosa community to use in place of plastic bags. The Council has already adopted the initiative within its office – with a number of Boomerang Bags available for staff to borrow for their grocery shopping after work if they have forgotten to bring their own reuseable bags.

Sewing bees are hosted every Monday and Wednesday from 9am to 2.30 pm at Shop 4/28 Sunshine Beach Road, Noosa Heads. We rely on the goodwill of a local real estate agent who provides free space, so we sometimes need to move around.
